Description

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

This application covers soluble PQQ-GDH enzyme mutants designed for glucose monitoring electrodes, especially blood assays for diabetes glucose monitoring and for their use in biofuel cells.

In addition, such mutants are fundamental for understanding the mechanism of glucose oxidation.

Advantages
1- Mutants twice more active than the wild type enzyme for glucose oxidation
2- Easiness of production
3- 20% more selective towards maltose
4- Stable in physiological conditions

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

Glucose sensors, biofuel cells, any systems requiring the enzymatic oxidation of glucose at high rate.

STATE OF DEVELOPMENT

We already demonstrated the concept and the enzyme is available for testing.
2 papers have been published so far with these mutants and one more paper is under review:
– Durand & al, BBRC, 2010, 402,750; Flexer & al, Anal Chem, 2011,  in press
– Durand & al, J. Am Chem Soc, (2011), in press.
