Description

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

This application covers Glucose oxidase mutants designed for glucose monitoring, especially blood assays for diabetes glucose monitoring and for their use in biofuel cells electrodes.
In addition, such mutants are fundamental for understanding the mechanism of glucose oxidation.

ADVANTAGES

We have shown that this new Glucose oxidase presents main advantages compared to previous commercial enzymes especially:

1 Higher Kcat and lower Km than the widely used GOx from Aspergillus niger

2 80 % less sensititive to O2

Stable in physiological conditions

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

Glucose sensors, biofuel cells, any systems requiring the enzymatic oxidation of glucose at high rate without interference of O2.

STATE FO DEVELOPMENT

We already demonstrated the concept in electrochemistry. Samples are available for testing.
