Description

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

This invention describes a process to increase gene targeting frequency in E. coli (factor 1 000 to 100 000). Chemical modifications result in DNA damage, blocking of DNA replication and improvement of homologous recombination efficiency.
This process allows gene targeting by integrating a modified gene in place of a healthy gene for the inactivation of said gene.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

This innovation comes within the scope of functional genomic.
By allowing the activation or inactivation of target genes, it could represent a new tool for gene therapy.
