French patent application FR0004488 filed on July the 7th 2000 and entitled “Composés dérivés de LA2Mo2O9 et leur utilisation comme conducteurs ioniques”
Exclusive or non-exclusive licenses and collaborative research.
Laboratoire des Oxydes et Fluorures, (ldOF / UMR6010), Le Mans, France.
This invention describes novel compounds derived from La2Mo2O9 and their use as ion conductors. This new family of fast oxide-ion conductors has enhanced properties relative to yttria stabilized zirconia. As a result the operational temperatures of fuel cells can be reduced with sufficient conductivity at lower temperatures. The structure of the compounds gives them ionic conductive properties. The compounds can be produced as a powder and may be sintered or extruded into many different shapes to suit particular applications.
This invention can be used for all applications requiring ionic conductive properties such as electrochemical filtration by porous filters, electrochemical treatment of gaseous effluents, heterogeneous catalysis, in particular to catalyse controlled oxidation and dehydrogenation catalysis.
