TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

This laboratory works on the modeling, simulation, and experimentation of electromagnetic technologies.
In the middle or high frequency induction heating area, it is often important to control the stirring of the induced electroconductive fluid which may be a molten metal or an ionized gas such as a plasma.
This invention describes the process for setting up a multiphase electromagnetic stirring inductor configuration using a single phase middle or high frequency induction generator, based on the single phase asynchronous motor principle.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

This innovation could be used in any induction installation to control the stirring direction of the induced electroconductive fluid, for example in a continuous casting installation where a centripetal direction of the liquid metal is possible on the free surface, to improve the melting of the feeding scraps. This innovation may also be used in inductive plasma torch areas for the same reason.
